Starting from known mounting racks, which are provided either only for wall mounting or for cabinet mounting, the invention is based on the object of specifying a mounting rack which is optionally suitable for both types of mounting. The object is achieved in that the mounting rack (10) consists of pairs of rails which are arranged parallel, and of Z-shaped side pieces (17, 18) which are connected to the ends of the rail pairs. The first, mutually opposite limbs (15, 16), which are connected to the rail ends, contain, between the individual rails (11), openings (23) for wall mounting. The second limbs (20, 21) which face away from one another contain openings (24) for accommodating guide bolts (80) which are intended for cabinet mounting. The mounting rack is preferably suitable for use in cable television installations. The drawing shows a perspective view of a mounting rack which is fitted with assemblies and is intended for wall mounting. <IMAGE>
