Shaped weld piece for avoiding terrace fractures with welded constructions consisting of structural steel

A shaped piece is machined from a thick-walled steel section such that it can be welded into an existing construction. In the groove made in it, a pipe clamp may then be braced and welded onto a cut T-piece or similar profile. Consequently, a terrace fracture in the necessary steel construction can be avoided since the shrinkage stresses in the thickness direction are avoided.
