<p>An improved process for the transalkylation of polyalkylbenzenes to monoalkylbenzenes in a reactor in the presence of a catalyst. The improvement comprises transalkylating a feed comprising polyalkylbenzenes, preferably benzene and polyalkylbenzenes, in a transalkylation reactor, in the presence of hydrogen gas. Such a process increases catalyst life and permits the use of a feed to the transalkylation reactor having a lower benzene to alkyl groups ratio.</p> |
