In a coagulator for equipment for cleaning exhaust gases from fossil fuels, especially exhaust gases from diesel engines, having a casing (10) acting as a counter-electrode, an electrode (11) at high voltage arranged concentrically in the casing (10) and an electrically heatable insulator (13) acting as an insulated bushing for the electrode (11) through the casing (10), the insulator (13) is constructed in two parts to attain considerable high-voltage dielectric strength with relatively small overall dimensions and consists of a ceramic inner pipe (17) and a protective tube (18) surrounding said inner pipe (17). The heating element (19) needed for heating is applied to the periphery of the inner pipe (17) in the form of a spiral thick-film conductor and the protective tube (18) is sintered to the inner pipe (17) in such a way that the plane of separation (14) between the inner pipe (17) and the protective tube (18) is gastight.
