Timed-washing method for laundries, in which the dirty laundry supplied is first stored and then subjected to initially static and subsequent mechanical cold wet-treatment, and an apparatus for carrying out this method, with a device which is located upstream of the latter and which serves for wetting, swelling and flooding the dirty laundry by means of the cold wet-treatment of the latter during the storage time.
