Fibre-optical sensor system

A fibre-optic sensor system having a light guide, on whose receiver-side end a light signal is introduced, and on whose other, sensor-side end a transmitter sends back a light measuring signal directed onto the receiver and having data corresponding to the measured variable to be detected, the sensor reflects at least a defined part of the light signal as a light measuring signal and, corresponding to the measured variable, attenuates and sends out additionally a reference signal whose attenuation over the optical waveguide is determined by means of the receiver. From the determinable attenuation of the reference signal, the unknown attenuation influencing the data content of the light measuring signal is thus determined and enables an exact determination of the measured value of interest.
