The injection mould with exchangeable mould cavity insert

In the injection mould for thermoplastics, on the one hand the mould cavity wall temperature is not to be too low to permit good flowing of the melt and the relief of internal stresses, on the other hand this temperature is not to be too high, in order that the cycle time does not become too long. Also when injection moulding thermoset materials there is an optimum temperature program. These conflicting requirements are met by an injection mould with an exchangeable mould cavity insert. The preheated insert is in the mould of the injection-moulding machine only during the injection phase and holding pressure phase. Thereafter, it is removed and subjected to a specific temperature program, during which another, unfilled and heated-up insert is inserted and filled. This reduces the cycle time to the filling phase and holding pressure phase.
