The light has a casing (1) spherical in shape and a ring-shaped holder (11) fitting around the outside of the casing. The holders inner surface is at least partly matched to the outer surface of the casing. Locking elements (18, 19) connect the casing and holder together. An adjuster is provided to change the pressure with which the holder acts on the casing. The holder can spring open and has a clamping ring (14, 15) made of a shape-memory alloy. Alternatively, the holder consists of a ring and a nut (42). The diameter of the ring and nut is less than that of the casing. The ring has snap-action locking springs (18, 19). ADVANTAGE - Simple. Light in weight. Cheap. Easy to adjust and replace.
