METHOD FOR PERMANENT PRESERVING THE BIOLOGIC VALUE OF POLLEN

The prods. are prepd. by drying fresh pollen at 20-80 deg.C to 4-12 wt.% humidity and adding before or after drying 0.1-10.0 wt.% propolis. The drying may be performed in a fluidised bed dryer or by natural wilting of pollen spread on plastic gauze. The pollen is homogenised before drying with ground propolis, or sprayed during drying with propolis extract. Drying is pref. carried out in the presence of a germicide lamp. - The dried pollen is opt. mixed with not more than 20 wt.% honey, not more than 10 wt.% propolis and not more than 5 wt.% tartaric-acid. The mixt. is subsequently packaged in plastic film or compacted into containers, either in vacuo or with a carbon-dioxide atmos.
