A buckle assembly (10) includes a plug member (25) and a socket member (11) releasably coupled together to connect opposite ends of a strap or belt. The plug member (25) includes a cantilevered resilient tongue (30) having a locking lug (32) lockingly engageable with a stopper bar (21) of the socket member (11) to couple the plug and socket member (25, 11). The socket member (11) includes a cantilevered resilient flap (19) having a releasing lug (20) engageable with the locking lug (32) to disengage the latter from the stopper bar (21) when the resilient flap (19) is depressed. The stopper bar (21) is engageable with the resilient flap (19) to prevent undue resilient deformation of the latter. |
