A family concept for an armoured combat vehicle is based on an arrangement having a drive unit 51, 52 arranged at the side in the rear of the body and, alongside, a usable space 200 in the body 41, which is preferably connected to the crew compartment 46, which is likewise provided in the body, and can be used in accordance with the purpose of the combat vehicle. This concept permits optimum protection of the crew with the minimum possible cost in terms of armouring, as well as optimum utilisation of the space in the protected compartment inside the body. <IMAGE>
