Manufacturing process for a catalyst for depollution of exhaust gases whereby a metal substrate is selected consisting of a ferrous alloy containing in the alloyed state: chromium, and possibly aluminium, zirconium, niobium, titanium, nickel, molybdenum, tungsten, cobalt, copper; preparing an acid bath containing oxygen atoms and in dissolved form at least one chalcogenated component, in particular sulphur-based; placing the metal substrate in the afore-mentioned bath in order to form on its surface a porous conversion coating; and depositing at least one precious metal in and on said conversion coating, in order to obtain a coating impregnated with precious metal. The catalyst produced may, in particular, be used for manufacturing the linings of catayltic converters for heat-engine vehicles. |
