Apparatus for the loading of approximately cylindrical articles, especially of paper rolls

Loading apparatuses, which engage by means of fork-like prongs on the circumference of paper rolls in order to raise these and load them, are highly complicated and are also inclined to damage the circumference of the paper rolls. It is therefore proposed to provide a loading shovel, the shovel surface of which descends either towards the shovel edge or towards a rear wall. In the first case, an inflatable hose is arranged in the region of the shovel edge, and in the second case an inflatable hose is arranged in the region of a raised rear edge. Paper rolls brought on to the shovel surface can thus be held on the shovel or moved down from the shovel surface by respectively inflating and bleeding the pressure in the hoses. This allows careful handling without any outlay in terms of construction. The apparatus is used for loading of delicate paper rolls. <IMAGE>
