The invention relates to a length-adjustable rod, in particular a track rod for steering a motor vehicle, having two rod portions which can be adjusted with respect to each other and having an adjusting element. In order to avoid a relative rotation between the rod portions and to obtain simple adjustability, the two rod portions are provided with toothings which lie opposite each other and are in engagement with a gear lying in between. The gear is secured in a sleeve which surrounds the rod portions.
