In a device for the temporary storage of a thread between a splicing apparatus and a delivery apparatus delivering a thread continuously, there is provided an annular depositing chamber which is rotatable about an axis directed transversely relative to the thread-transport direction and the bottom of which is air-permeable and is connected to a suction-extraction means.
