Fibre-optic sensor system

In a fibre-optic sensor system for motor vehicles having a plurality of sensors for physical variables, to which a light signal is fed via a common optical waveguide and which feed back in each case a light measuring signal adjusted to a corresponding measured variable via the optical waveguide to a central unit, each sensor generates a light measuring signal by reflection of at least a part of the light signal and the sensors occupy an individual, mutually different total light path which is composed by addition of the light paths for the light signal and the light measuring signal. In this way, a sensor system working in the manner of a multiplex is achieved, having a variable number of participants, with a simple construction and high reliability.
