<p>A method and apparatus for irrigating plants in a controlled manner. The method includes the alternate steps of moving the irrigating liquid from a reservoir containing the liquid to a plant-accommodating container situated at a level higher than that of the reservoir by using pressurized air to displace the liquid from the reservoir, and then of terminating the flow of displacing air to permit excess liquid to return from the container to the reservoir under gravity. These alternate steps are carried out automatically in accordance with a predetermined cycle.</p> |
