PURPOSE:To obtain the natural recording/reproducing characteristics on the entire recording surface, by superposing a 2-dimensional signal having alternating polarities on a density input signal which is used for recording a variable-density picture, then using this superposed signal to a picture recording output signal. CONSTITUTION:A pseudo random number generator 1 generates a positive random number 11 synchronously with an X-direction picture element clock 14. The number 11 is added to an adder/subtractor 2 together with a density input signal 10. While the clock 14 and a Y-direction line feed signal 15 are applied to an exclusive OR circuit via FF3 and 4 respectively to produce a polarity signal 16 to both (x) and (y) respectively. The signal 16 functions to perform the addition and subtraction alternately through the adder/subtractor 2. Thus the adder/subtractor 2 gives addition and subtraction of the number 11 alternately to the signal 10 in response to the signal 16. As a result, a picture output signal is obtained by adding a polarity alternating random number signal to the signal 10 for the output 13 of the adder/subtractor 2. |
