摘要 Diesel engine of relatively low power with an inlet and outlet valve, and with direct fuel injection by means of an injection nozzle which is arranged eccentrically with respect to the cylinder axis and the axis of which is parallel to the cylinder axis or forms an acute angle with the latter, and with injection bores, the axes of which lie on a cone envelope. There is also a rotationally symmetrical combustion-space recess which is arranged in the piston and which is designed to be shallow and open completely towards the plane bottom of the cylinder head and in which the combustion air has no appreciable swirl. In this context, according to the invention, very good mixture preparation and a combustion- space recess which is as wide-ranging as possible in relation to the piston diameter are achieved in that the injection nozzle 5 has six to fourteen injection bores for as uniform a distribution of the fuel as possible in the combustion space, the axes 14 of the said injection bores lying on a cone envelope with an aperture angle of 160 degrees to 180 degrees, and in that the diameter of the combustion-space recess 4 arranged off-centre and shallow so as to be concentric to the nozzle 5 extends on one side beyond the piston edge, with the lateral combustion-space wall 20 being partially omitted. <IMAGE>
