PURPOSE:To adjust the whole music to desired time without varying the play time in a desired play section by varying the tempo of automatic play or each note length in a specific area based on play time measured by a measuring means and play time specified by a play time varying and specifying means. CONSTITUTION:A console panel 20, a tempo oscillator 40, a rhythm sound signal generating circuit 51, an automatic play tune signal generating circuit 53, a data storage circuit 60, and a microcomputer 70 are connected mutually by a bus 40. Then while the specific play section wherein the time is inhibited from being varied, the original play time of music to be played automatically is set prior to the reproduction of a tune. Then the tempo and note length of automatic play except in the specific play section are varied automatically so that the play time of the whole tune is desired time; and the whole music is played while the time of some section is fixed. Consequently, the total play time is adjusted automatically to the desired time in the desired play section without varying the play time.
