<p>The invention relates to a hydropneumatic suspension system for a vehicle. This suspension system is characterised in that it comprises a regulating means (D, 6a-6d) which is controlled manually by the driver of the vehicle or automatically by means of operating parameters of this vehicle and which is capable of putting the hydraulic jacks (1a-1d) equipping each wheel of the vehicle in communication either with hydropneumatic accumulators of different elastic characteristics (4a-4d) and (5a-5d) simultaneously by way of their respective damping means (2a-2d, 3a-3d), to obtain a flexible suspension, or only with one (4a-4d) or other (5a-5d) of these accumulators, in order to obtain a so-called normal suspension or firm suspension respectively.
