PURPOSE:To obtain an antibacterial agent containing a pyridonecarboxylic acid derivative and being useful for treatment for bacterial infection. CONSTITUTION:An antibacterial agent containing a pyridonecarboxylic acid derivative expressed by formula I or its salt as an active ingredient. The antibacterial agent is effective on gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginos and gram-positive bacteria, having broad range of antibacterial spectrum and simultaneously having excellent solubility and exhibiting high blood level, free from action to a central system and having excellent safety. As the compound expressed by formula I, (S)-10-(1-aminocyclopropyl)-9-fluoro-3- methyl-7-oxo-2,3dihydro-7H-pyrido[1,2,3-de][1,4]benzoxazine-6-carboxylic acid is exemplified. The compound expressed by formula I is obtained by subjecting a compound expressed by formula II (R<1> is H or carboxyl protecting group; R<2> is amino group which may be protected) to ring closure reaction in the presence or absence of a fluoride or base. |
