<p>PURPOSE:To achieve a conservation of man-hour with simplified work of setting sensitivity by setting a sensitivity per detector beforehand to call up a set value automatically with a switching of the detector. CONSTITUTION:A light emitter 3 is mounted on a faceplate 1 of a swing machine body through a support member 2 and a detection light is projected to a needle plate 4 fixed on a table with light emitting elements 5 and 6 to be received with light receiving elements 7 and 8. Elements 5 and 7 are paired to compose a detector 9a while elements 6 and 8 are paired to compose a detector 9b to detect the presence and the thickness of a fabric introduced between light emitting are receiving elements by the detection light. Then, a CPU 10 as sensitivity setting/reading means performs a setting of sensitivity beforehand for the detectors 9a and 9b to be stored and a changeover switch 22 selects the detectors 9a and 9b and as each switching is performed, a set value is read thereby enabling automatic setting of sensitivity.</p> |
