<p>PURPOSE:To enable continuous operation of a plant even upon fault of a thyristor by detecting the number of faulty thyristors and decreasing the generator load to a level where field current having corresponding withstandability flows. CONSTITUTION:Plural sets of thyristor rectifier circuits comprising plus thyristor elements 17 and minus output thyristor elements 18 are connected in parallel with respective phases of a generator field circuit. Each thyristor is provided in series with an overload protection fuse 19. It two sets of thyristors malfunction during rated operation of a generator, a load one stage run back signal 7 is outputted and the load is decreased to a level where field current having corresponding withstandability flows. If three sets of thyristors malfunction, a load two stage run back signal 8 is outputted and the load is decreased to a level where field current having corresponding withstandability flows.</p> |
