PURPOSE:To provide a composition for hair capable of highly preventing the discoloration of a polyphenol compound and useful as the second liquid of a hair-dyeing agent by comprising the polyphenol compound and a nitrogen- containing compound and further to provide a composition for the hair useful as a foamable hair-treating agent by comprising the polyphenol compound and a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A composition for hair comprises a polyphenol compound (e.g., pyrogallol, resorcinol or catechol) and a nitrogen compound (e.g., a neutral hydroxyamino acid such as threonine or serine or a neutral imino acid such as proline). The composition can prevent the oxidative coloration of the polyphenol compound, thereby suitable as the second liquid of a hair-dyeing agent comprising the first liquid containing a polyvalent metal salt and the second liquid containing the polyphenol compound. A composition for the hair comprises the polyphenol compound and a nonionic surfactant (e.g., polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether). The composition provides foams having good texture and stability. |
