PURPOSE:To provide a free cutting steel excellent in hot workability, corrosion resistance, and machinability by incorporating specific weight percentages of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, Al, N, S, Cu, and Se to a steel. CONSTITUTION:This free cutting steel has a composition in which <=0.10% C, <=0.50% Si, 1.00-2.00% Mn, 8.0-10.00% Ni, 17.00-19.00% Cr, <=0.015% Al, 0.03-0.08% N, 0.10-0.35% S, 2.50-4.0% Cu, and 0.03-0.12% Se are incorporated to a steel and the balance consists of Fe with inevitable impurity elements. By this method, the free cutting steel excellent in hot workability, corrosion resistance, and machinability can be provided. |
