PURPOSE:To eliminate loss of power source and to improve the reliability by arranging an emergency power source or battery power source between a power converting section and power inverting section. CONSTITUTION:When a commercial power source 1 is normal, a power converting section 3a converts AC power fed from the commercial power source 1 into AC power having desired frequency and feeds the converted power to an induction motor 4. During this operation, a battery power source 5 connected through a power source switcher 2A to the power converting section 3a stores power. Upon interruption of the commercial power source 1, a power interruption detector (not shown) functions to connect the battery power source 5 through the power source switcher 2A with the power inverting section 3a. The power inverting section 3a converts DC power fed from the battery power source 5 into AC power, which is then fed to an induction motor 4 to operate the induction motor 4 uninterruptedly. |
