PURPOSE:To obtain the subject elastomer, consisting of vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroethylene units, having specific viscosity- molecular weight characteristics and good in processability, fluidity, mold releasability and cold resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective elastomer with 66.5-68.5wt.% fluorine content, obtained by adding 1,1,2 trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane and methyl cellulose which is a suspension stabilizer and diiodomethane to disoxidized pure water, heating the mixture at 50 deg.C while stirring, adding vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroethylene and then dlisopropyl peroxydicarbonate, etc., as a catalyst and carrying out polymerization and having 40-100ml/g intrinsic viscosity, 1.5-3.0 ratio (MW/MN) of weight-average molecular weight (MW) to number-average molecular weight (MN) and 600-1200 ratio (MN/[eta]) of the number-average molecular weight (MN) to the intrinsic viscosity [eta] (ml/g). |
