PURPOSE: To determine presence or concentration of hapten easily by employing an antigen comprisingα-haloacetoamide hapten having specified chemical formula bonded covalently with a polymer carrier. CONSTITUTION: A host animal (preferably, a rabbit) is immunized by imparting an antigen comprisingα-haloacetoamide hapten having specified chemical formula and bonded covalently with a polymer carrier (in the formula, X is a halogen, R1 and R2 are independent radicals of 8C or less) to produce an antibody specific to hapten. Anti-serum is then extracted from the host and an antibody is produced therefrom in order to employ a second antibody inhibition method (e.g. an anti-caprine rabbit gamma globulin bonded with horse radish peroxydase). Presence or concentration of hapten is determined from a standard colorimetric working curve through this solid phase analysis.
