Fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines

The object of the invention is to design injection nozzles with outwardly opening valve needle (18) so that the entry of fuel into the combustion chamber is distributed and phased in such a way that the power, the noise behaviour and the consumption and emission values of the engine are improved. The object is achieved by a valve sleeve (34), displaceably supported on the valve needle (18) and pressed against its closing head (20) by its own spring element (70), which valve sleeve is provided on the outer circumference with at least one longitudinal groove (76) for passage of the pre-injection fuel, which is closed by covering over at the end of the pre-injection lift. The arrangement is preferably designed so that a main injection duct leading by way of the valve sleeve (34) is opened only after closure of the longitudinal groove (76), so that pre-injection and main injection phase are separated from one another by a brief interruption of the injection.
