A description is given of the fastening of a part on a ladder string, provision being made, in part, for a screw or rivet connection. The fastening of a part on a string of a ladder is intended to be further developed such that said fastening can withstand even extreme states of loading. For this purpose, it is provided that the fastening of the fastening part comprises, on the one hand, a screw or rivet connection and, on the other hand, at least one hook-shaped part which engages through at least one cutout in the string and comes to be positioned on the rear side of the string, on the inside thereof.
