A container seal for discharging the liquid contents of the container, for example medicine, in drops, is provided at its drop insert with a liquid output element which projects centrally and axially and takes the form of a hollow body which extends the drop insert body axially outwards. The liquid outlet element 19 has, in its peripheral wall 21, a lateral axial guide groove 22, at the base of which, at the foot of the liquid outlet element 19 there is mounted the air inlet aperture in the floor 17 of the drop insert. The axially projecting liquid outlet element 19 is preferably conical and is arranged centrally with respect to the drop insert 15, the axis of the cone coinciding with the axis 47 of the seal. Furthermore, there is preferably formed at the free end of the liquid outlet element 19 a liquid outlet tube 27, which can be axially slotted if desired. The sealing cap is provided with a cap part 34 which covers the liquid outlet element 19 and the guide groove 22. When a screw-on cap is used, there is formed at the foot of this cap part 34 a seal which comes into action when the container seal 10 is closed, in order to prevent the passage of liquid in the region of the ring nut 37. <IMAGE>
