A centrifugal separator includes a separation chamber (4) with an inlet (9) for a mixture of two liquids and relatively heavy solids, a first central outlet (23a) for separated light liquid, a second peripheral outlet (12) for separated heavy liquid component and solids, and a third outlet (35) from the separation chamber (4) positioned radially between the first and second outlets (23a, 12) and communicating with a recirculation channel (31-33) through which liquid from the separation chamber (4) is conducted through a sensing means (38) which controls opening of the peripheral outlet (12) and back to the inlet (9) for mixture, throttle means (37) for limiting flow through the recirculation channel being formed in a partition wall (29) in the rotor between a space (36) communicating with the third outlet (35) and a chamber (30) into which a paring disc (3) extends. |
