Package for disc-shaped products

Disc-shaped products, in particular information carriers such as sound-recording discs, floppy discs or the like, are accommodated, to protect their information or useful part, in flat plastic housings with a rim on all sides and a lid which can be pivoted up. If said housings are stackable, they have to be removed from the pile for use and inserted therein again after use. The new package is intended to allow stacking in any direction and removal of the product without removing the package from the pile whilst providing the same good protection. In order to expose the packaged product for inspection and possible removal, said product is arranged on a product carrier which is arranged between two mutually parallel discs, connected to one another in the edge region, and is connected to said discs so as to be pivotable between a position which covers the product and a position which exposes the product. The package is suitable for disc-shaped products of all types, in particular for information carriers, such as sound-recording discs, floppy discs, recording tapes, etc.
