PURPOSE:To provide an external appearance of beautiful color and also provide superior corrosion resistance, weatherability, and heat resistance by forming an intermediate layer showing sacrificial corrosive action on the surface of a steel material and further forming a colored ceramics film on the above by thermal spraying. CONSTITUTION:A plating layer 2 of Zn, etc., composed of a metal baser than iron and steel is formed on the surface of a steel material 1. A ceramics film 3 of alumina, etc., is formed on the above surface by means of plasma spraying. The surface of the galvanizing layer 2 as an intermediate layer is brought into contact with the air infiltrated into pores 4 in the ceramics film 3 under a service environment to form stable oxides 5 and expand, by which the pores 4 are closed. By this method, the ceramics film 3 is made dense and the surface of the steel material 1 is free from contact with the air, and as a result, rust formation can be prevented. |
