Method for cleaning the tubes in a steam generator, and device for carrying out the method

The removal of slag deposits from the tubes of a steam generator fired with coal dust has previously been undertaken by hand using striking tools. In this case, the tubes have been partially dented, with the result that the free through-flow cross-section is irreparably reduced. If the tubes are caused to execute vibrations, preferably bending (flexural) vibrations, the sintered-on slag deposits then peel (flake, spall) off. It is possible by using an oscillator of variable frequency also to excite the tubes individually or in groups to execute vibrations in the vicinity of the resonance range.
