The invention relates to a process and to an apparatus for feeding textile sheet-like structures, in particular adhesive-bonding units, to a machining apparatus, in particular to an adhesive-bonding apparatus, in the case of which blanks which are initially arranged in stacks are separated and laid one upon the other to form adhesive-bonding units, and the latter are then conveyed to the machining apparatus. The object of the invention is to develop a process and an apparatus by means of which the possible capacity of the adhesive-bonding apparatus can be fully utilised. The object is achieved according to the invention in that the adhesive-bonding units are arranged on a preliminary conveyor, in that the adhesive-bonding units are then delivered from the preliminary conveyor onto an intermediate conveyor, which in this arrangement is operated approximately at the same conveying rate as the preliminary conveyor, and in that the adhesive-bonding units are then conveyed from the intermediate conveyor onto an adhesive-bonding conveyor of the adhesive-bonding apparatus, the intermediate conveyor being operated at approximately the same conveying rate as the adhesive-bonding conveyor. Another solution is distinguished in that the separation and laying of the blanks one upon the other to form adhesive-bonding units is carried out manually, preferably by two members of operating staff who share the work between them.
