Method for producing a superstructure for railways

A method is used to produce a superstructure for railways which forms a solid travelway, consisting of a bitumenously bonded supporting layer, as used in road construction, or of slabs laid on the formation, preferably of a jointlessly produced slab of concrete or special concrete with added plastic and/or bitumen, if necessary with an upper levelling layer of fine asphaltic concrete, to which the track grid consisting of tracks screwed to concrete sleepers is adhesively bonded by means of a bitumen- and/or plastic-based casting compound. In order that the casting compound can be introduced with uniform distribution and complete filling of the gaps formed between the sleepers and the solid travelway, so that a good connection of the concrete sleepers to the travelway is guaranteed, the sleepers (1) are covered, at least on the opposite long sides, with perforated mats or metal sheets (5, 6, 7) which bear on the long sides of the sleepers (1) and in the region underneath the sleepers (1) on the travelway and which bridge the gaps between the sleepers (1) and the travelway, formed by raising the sleepers by means of spindles. The gaps between the sleepers (1) and the solid travelway are then sealed using the casting compound from one end face of each sleeper (1) or through a vertical bore in the sleepers (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
