PURPOSE:To improve the color developability and shelf stability, by substituting a specified heterocyclic thio group for the active site of a magenta coupler. CONSTITUTION:This color photosensitive silver halide material contains a 2- equiv. magenta coupler represented by the general formula[where R1 is alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic; R2 is amino, carbonamido, ureido, alkoxy or heterocyclic; Z is a group of atoms required to form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring including a condensed heterocyclic ring; J is a bivalent group such as -O-, -S-, -NH- or -CO-; n is 0 or 1; when n is 0, X is alkyl, arylene or heterocyclic; Y is -COOM, -SO3M, -OM (M is a cation) or -SO2NHR3 (R3 is H, alkyl or aryl)]. The heterocyclic thio group does not provide the function of a DIR coupler to the magenta coupler but improves the color developability to that of a 4-equiv. coupler. |
