PURPOSE:To protect a fault information picking-up program so as not to be destructed at the time of the ordinary operation of an information processing system by adding a small quantity of the hardware. CONSTITUTION:After a fault information picking-up program is loaded at the initial setting step of the software, the lower limit address of the coding part and the data part of the fault information picking-up program is loaded to a lower limit address register 3, and the upper limit address is loaded to an upper limit address register 4. Further, when a flip flop 6 is set to a logic '1' level, the writing to the area of a main storage 50 is suppressed. When a monitoring program detects a fault and the flip flop 6 is set to a logic '0' level, the writing to the area of the main storage 50 is not suppressed, and when the monitoring program activates the fault information picking-up program, the fault information can be picked up, analyzed and edited. Thus, the fault information picking-up program is not destructed and is protected. |
