<p>PURPOSE:To deodorize a gas contg. basic malodorous components as primary malodorous component and having high intensity of the malodorous components or large fluctuation of the intensity thereof by neutralizing and removing basic malodorous components in a first packed bed with acidic washing water generated in a second packed bed where malodorous components are decomposed by microorganisms. CONSTITUTION:Washing water sprayed through a spray water nozzle pipe 15 washes off decomposed products of malodorous components generated by the effect of microorganisms sticking to the surface of a second packed bed 13. Basic malodorous components in the gas 10 to be treated are neutralized and removed by allowing the gas to contact with the acidic washing water in a first packed bed 12. The gas to be treated freed of a major portion of the basic malodorous components is introduced into a second packed bed 13, where the gas is allowed to contact with microorganisms. Thus, residual malodorous components in the gas are decomposed, and discharged as odorless gas 10a into atmospheric air from the top of a deodorizing tower 1. Thus, the load of the second packed bed 13 is reduced and possibility for causing clogging is also reduced even if the intensity or fluctuation of intensity of the malodorous components is large.</p> |
