PURPOSE:To obtain an antifreeze at about a neutral pH, containing phosphoric acids, dicarboxylic acids, an Mg compound, mercaptobenzothiazole sodium, nitrate, benzoate and specific copolymer, excellent in rust preventive effects and consisting of glycols and water. CONSTITUTION:The objective antifreeze at pH6.5-9.0, consisting of glycols and water and containing (A) phosphoric acids, (B) dicarboxylic acids, (C) an Mg compound, (D) mercaptobenzothiazole sodium, (E) a nitrate, (F) a benzoate and (G) a copolymer derived from (i) a polyalkylene glycol monoallyl ether expressed by formula I (m and n are 0 or positive integers and m + n is 1-100), (ii) a maleic acid-based monomer expressed by formula Il [R1 and R2 are H or methyl; X and Y are (C2H4O)p(C3H6O)qR3 (R3 is H or 1-20C alkyl; p and q are 0 or positive integers and p + q is 0-100) and/or (iii) other monomers. |
