PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic fluid, readily colorable with a blue colorant regardless of black color assumed and applicable even to magnetic inks, etc., for printers by dispersing fine particles of a specific magnetic metallic oxide in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective magnetic fluid obtained by dispersing fine particles of a magnetic metallic oxide, expressed by the formula (X, Y and Z are 0.2<=X<=1.0; 0.9<=Z<=1.1; X+Y is 1) and having normally 1-20nm particle diameter in a solvent consisting of preferably kerosene and water. Furthermore, if a colorant consisting of the afore-mentioned fine particles and a blue water- based dye or oil dye is dispersed in the solvent, a colored magnetic fluid is obtained. |
