PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity to white light and semiconductor laser beams and repetition characteristics by incorporating a specified compound as a carrier generating material. CONSTITUTION:The sensitivity to white light and semiconductor laser beams and repetition characteristics can be obtained by incorporating in one of the layers of the photosensitive body as the carrier generating material the compound represented by formula I and the compound represented by formula III, and in formulae I and III, each of X<1> and X<2> is halogen, optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy, nitro, cyano, hydroxy, or amino; each of p and q is 0, 1, or 2; A is a group represented by formula II; Ar is an aromatic hydrocarbon group or such a heterocyclic group having a fluorinated hydrocarbon group; Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group; each of m and n is 0, 1, or 2; Q is a residue selected from residues of formulae IV, V, and VI; D is H, hydroxy, carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl, sulfo, optionally substituted carbamoyl or sulfamoyl. |
