PURPOSE:To obtain in high efficiency the title copolymer outstanding in resistance to impact and heat and transparency, little in toluene insolubles, suitable as a raw material for various kinds of industrial products, domestic appliances, etc. by reaction between a specific copolymer and a diamine. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer <=0.5 (pref. <=0.1)wt.% in toluene insolubles can be obtained by reaction between (A) a copolymer made up of 75-98wt.% (pref. 80-97wt.%) of structural unit of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are each H or 1-4C alkyl) and 25-2 (pref. 20-3)wt.% of structural unit of formula II and (B) a diamine of formula III (R<3> is divalent organic residue) (e.g., o, m, or p- xylylenediamine). |
