<p>PURPOSE:To improve preservation and cycle characteristics of a metal-hydrogen alkali storage battery by immersing a separator in the process solution for dissolving a portion of the separator before assembling the battery. CONSTITUTION:A separator is immersed in alkali, particularly hot alkali to dissolve the easily soluble surface active agent the low molecular weight component of nylon which is a portion of the separator, before assembling a metal- hydrogen alkali battery. Then, a 6-6 nylon-unwoven cloth is produced to be installed into the battery. The aqueous solution of potassium or sodium hydroxide is employed for the process solution which is heated more than 40 deg.C when used.</p> |
