[Also in Division F1] A synthetic plastics wall plug 3 having lateral slots, is fixed in masonry 4 by inserting the conical leading end of a container 1 of fluid fixative into the bore 3a of the plug and forcing a piston 2 into the container to cause the fixative 9 to be displaced into the interior of the plug and out through a slot 5 into the surrounding masonry. At the inner end 7 of the plug, sealing tongues 8 are provided which are forced into contact with the walls 4a of the bore and tend to force the ends of the plug together whereby escape of fixative at this point is prevented. The container 1 and piston 2 are attached together by a thin-walled flexible sheath 10 which is sealed to the container at 10a. |
