PURPOSE:To provide an embroidery yarn having excellent embroidering workability and capable of giving an embroidery inhibiting no stretchability of a base fabric by using an elastic fiber yarn and a soluble fiber yarn as a core yarn and covering the core yarns with a non-elastic fiber yarn which is twisted in coincidence with the covering direction. CONSTITUTION:(A) An elastic fiber yarn such as polyurethane yarn preferably having 15-55 denier and (B) a soluble fiber yarn such as polyvinyl alcohol fiber yarn capable of being dissolved in water, organic solvents, etc., having no rubbery elasticity and preferably 20-200 denier are formed into a core yarn, for example, as a forded yarn. The core yarn is covered with a processed yarn in coincidence with the twisting direction of the processed yarn to provide the objective embroidery yarn, the processed yarn being produced by twisting and heat-setting a non-elastic fiber yarn (e.g., nylon yarn) and subsequently untwisting the twisted yarn. |
