CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To prevent the development of defect in a cast slab in continuous casting and to extend the service life of a skin roll by forming uphill slope toward running direction of a metallic belt, drawing up semi-solidified phase to molten metal surface with the running metallic belt and cooling upper surface of the semi-solidified phase with the skin roll above the molten metal surface. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal belt 4 is run while forming uphill slope toward running direction. The molten metal 7 is poured on the metallic belt 4 from a tundish 1. The molten metal 7 starts to form the semi-solidified phase 9 on the upper surface of the metallic belt 4. The semi-solidified phase 9 is drawn up to the surface of the molten metal with the metallic belt 4 and the skin roll 10 above the molten metal surface. By this method, the development of defect in the fast slab in continuous casting and the service life of the skin roll can be extended.
