The invention deals with the but-welded connection between the endwall (2 min ) and the body (1) of a thermoplastic container. Contrary to the known connection the invention provides the endwall with an axially extending edge (10),which may form part of a gripping edge (3 min ) and which overlaps the weld (8 min ),sothat the weld beads (9 min ) are hidden,whilst further the area of transition between the endwall (5 min ) and its edge (3 min ,10) above the weld has an axial thickness (b2) which is in essence the same as the thickness of the endwall (5 min ) and the radial thickness of the axially extending edge (10) of the endwall,sothat the materialflow of the plastic during molding of the endwall is more even. |
